January 18 | Explore Your Inner World In The New Year with Andrei and Natalia | Time: 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Join Natalia Andrievskikh (Jai Arti Kaur) and Andrei Guruianu for two weekends of guided meditation and creative writing workshops on January 18 and 25. The workshops will take form of an hour of Kundalini Yoga followed by an hour of a guided writing workshop where you will be able to apply the imaginative energy to tell the story you have always wanted to tell. Participants are encouraged to bring a notebook and their own yoga mats to use (or light blanket/throw). For those who need accommodations, the session can also be practiced sitting in chairs (provided).
Please register for each workshop using the form below.
About the yoga: You do not need to be a yoga practitioner to take part: the meditations are not physically challenging and are designed for all levels. Kundalini Yoga is an ancient practice of meditation that uses breathing techniques and light body movement to tap into one’s creativity. Each of us has an abundance of stories, images, and memories to share with the world; however, the everyday stress prevents us from being able to tap into the potential of our imagination. In these workshops, we will do a special meditation to free the mind and unleash the creative powers within.
January 22 | Library After Dark: Feeling Futuristic | Time: 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Celebrate the New Year with a futuristic feel. We will open our doors after dark to offer a variety of futuristic crafts, games, snacks, and more.
More details will be provided as they are confirmed. This is a great way to meet adults in our region—outside of the bar scene!
January 27 | Maker Monday: Needle Felted Hearts | Time: 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
On Maker Mondays we channel the Library’s Creation Station to make something fun. This Monday we will try steer clear of plastic wrap in 2020 with an environmentally friendly alternative: Beeswax Food Wraps!
Bring a yard of your own cotton fabric or use some of the library supply.
Ages 16 and older.
